Bridge Builder Action Planning Team Update – Volunteers Needed!

The Bridge Builder Action Planning Team (BBAPT) has held three meetings since being formed. Pastor Heidi Zimdars and Michelle Reichow were present at the second meeting. The BBAPT will be working to address the three areas that were identified in the Bridge Builder Report:

  1. Congregation readiness for healing
  2. Conflict at St. John
  3. Values/Hope for the future

The members of the BBAPT are: Lisa Anderson, Shirley Anderson, Phyllis Belanger, Laurie Kerr, Pastor Tom Koelln, Chris Kotek, Gary Luebben, Tom McChesney, Chris Sandberg, Larry Thoreson, Dave Vensland An action planning process will be used to address these three areas.

  1. Action Plan Discovery Meeting – Completed at 10/01/2009 meeting
  2. Task Group Meetings
  3. Focus Group Meetings
  4. Action Plan Report Edit Meeting
  5. Action Planning Presentation

The BBAPT goal is to complete the process and present the report at the annual meeting that will be held January, 2010. 

Three action areas have been identified to use this process:

  1. Congregational Handbook (A Framework)
    1. Provide things to help volunteers succeed. (EX: Processes, procedures, etc.)
    2. Leadership Style and expectations.
    3. Change management
    4. Communication
  2. Strategies to implement mission and vision
  3. Healing and Community

We need volunteers from the congregation to help with the action planning process for these three action areas. If interested, you can Volunteer Online Now The commitment is estimated to be ~3 hours per month until the end of the year.
