Confirmation 2011!

It’s time for St. John youth to affirm their baptisms. Confirmation begins with baptism, when parents take on the responsibility of a child’s faith and then, with the completion of confirmation, that responsibility passes from the parents to their young adult children. This is an exciting time for our church as a whole. This year the confirmation service will take place on May 8th at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary. Pictures will take place shortly after the service.

Just a reminder, all confirmation materials need to be completed and turned into the church office by May 4th. These includes, 20 sermon notes, 20 service hours, any attendance issues, personal faith statement, personal memory verse and a faith interview with Pastor Tom or Joshua Nichols. These are very important! Earlier this year, our church council voted that students will not be confirmed, if they have not completed all the requirements. If you have any questions concerning these requirements, please consult the “Parent’s Guide” given at the orientation last fall, or call the church office and talk to Pastor Tom of Joshua Nichols.
