Christian Education meeting

I would like to schedule a Christian Education meeting for Thursday, August 25th at 6:30-7:30. You are all very important to this team, especially now that we no longer have a youth director. Your voice is very essential!

Confirmation 2011!

It’s time for St. John youth to affirm their baptisms. Confirmation begins with baptism, when parents take on the responsibility of a child’s faith and then, with the completion of confirmation, that responsibility passes from the parents to their young adult children. This is an exciting time for our church as a whole. This year the confirmation service will take place on May 8th at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary. Pictures will take place shortly after the service.

Lenten Faith mentoring

Lenten Faith mentoring is part of the 9th grade/third year Confirmation here at St. John. It pairs individual youth with individual adults of the congregation in order to discuss faith and life issues, while experiencing the Lenten journey together.

Confirmation News: J-Term Coming for Parents and Students
January 5, 12, 19, 26: 6:00-7:00 PM in Fellowship Hall

In January we will “step out” of the Here We Stand curriculum. Parents are asked to attend with their students for the Wednesdays in January. We will be using a 4 session course entitled, “Am I Happy? The Search for Something More,” a Bible-based course from Sean McDowell, a nationally known Youth Ministry leader. Activities/lessons will be aimed at connecting families. There is no cost. The format of these events are family oriented. Families can go through the discussions together. An optional free meal will be served each Wednesday at 5:15PM. Hope to see you all there.
