Join Us

St. John Lutheran Church is a wonderful place to "Grow With Christ".  Our family has heart, a sense of humor, a casual attitude, and a warm and friendly feel.  We would be filled with joy to have you join us in the celebration of Christ and become a member of our Christian family.  Please join us for worship service and other events to see if we are a fit for you.

There are four ways to become a member of our family:

• A transfer of your current membership
• Baptism
• Affirmation of Faith (confirmation)
• New Member classes

Transfer of Membership

  If you are already a member at another Lutheran church and would like to have your membership transferred, please contact your current church and ask then to send a letter of transfer to:

Please include these three items should be included in the letter of transfer:

• Date and place of Baptism
• Date and place of Confirmation or Affirmation of Faith
• Date you wish to be received into our congregation

Baptism 

Everyone who is baptized at St. John is automatically a member.  If you are baptized as an infant we will follow you through the years starting with our Cradle Roll, Preschool, Sunday School and then onto Affirmation of Faith.  If you are baptized as an adult you would be welcomed into the new member classes.

Affirmation of Faith

  Most people know this as confirmation.  The name changed a few years back but the tradition of continues on.  Affirmation of faith classes are held for 7th, 8th, and 9th graders on Wednesday nights through out the school year.  Once you have completed the Affirmation of Faith program you become a full voting member of the congregation.

Alpha & Beta Classes

From time to time we offer the Alpha and Beta courses for those who want to take a deeper dive into various topics of the Bible. 

The Alpha course consists of meeting over several nights, each night beginning with supper and a group event.  Then splitting off into smaller groups for discussion and activities.  If you would like to sign up for new member classes or Alpha please contact Jill Ewy in our church office.  For more information about the Alpha course check out their web site by clicking here.
